...I got into a fight.
Seriously, a physical altercation. I shoved and got shoved back.
You might be wondering what some bitch did for me to shove her....well it was dude. I shoved a dude and he shoved me right back.
So what did he do? Did he touch my bum? No. Did he dance too close to me? Nope. He picked a cat up by it's tail and kind of shook it a little.
It was disgusting. The poor cat had just be standing there minding it's own business. I was so mad I ran up to the douchbag and asked him what the fuck was the matter with him, he just stood there holding the cat and grinned at me so I shoved him.
I have never been physical with a stranger before, but I'll tell you this, I was shocked that he shoved me back. (Play "guess the nationality" all you want)
This seemed to outrage the girls I was with and 2 of them shoved him and he shoved them back and then some guy in a suit came over and broke it up and left it at that. The cat then went and laid down near a potted plant. Poor little thing.
Meanwhile Cush was was on his way there to come and get me since he had been out with the guys getting their drink on.
I went in the club and tried to dance but I just couldn't let it go. I can't even believe people are so cruel, especially to little creatures.
It was Ghandi who said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." I firmly believe that.
Awhile later, I went back outside to get some air and the guy actually came back and stood near me, and I said, "don't you even look at me." And he tried to tell me some story about some Indians going in and the cat was going to go inside, but I saw the cat just standing there as I walked up so I knew it was bullshit.
Then Cush came up and to be quite honest I expected my man to give the guy a bollicking, so I told him what happened.
But Cush did no bollicking, he said a few things to the guy but no bollicking. I'm like married to Jesus. A very drunk Jesus who is now happily snoring away in bed.
I'm a bit disappointed to be honest. I was hoping for a bit of, "you never lay your hands on woman no matter what yadda yadda" but no...
And then we left and now I'm sitting here typing this because I just can't sleep.
I'm disgusted and disappointed, thoroughly.
So, while writing this it has occured to me that I totally have double standards. I am a great believer in equality and indeed liberation but for real I expect a man to keep his hands to himself no matter what I do to him, because honestly, I'm a woman. How fucked up is that? But that's really what I think and really I didn't shove him hard. I could see that if I was really going to town trying to hurt him then yes he should absolutely defend himself, but other then that, no way.
So yeah...just another Thursday night at Rock Bottom....

I am glad you did.He deserved it, since the cat was to small to fight back.
When I was a kid there were a bunch of little Omani boys poking a cat's eyes out with a stick. So I threw rocks at them. An older set of Omani men came up [the traditional, respectful, Islamic kind] and I spoke no arabic at the time, and the boys told the men I was the on poking the cat's eyes out and they were just puting it out of its misery. Alhamdulilah for the old man there that didn't believe them and took his traditional Omani assa stick and whacked them across the shoulders. It was an Eid holiday and there wasn't even a vet available to put the poor miskeen animal down, so I held her and carried her, and she died, because the stick poked right through her brain. I wish we had found those boys again so I could hurt them more.

rb arsehole, you have a point, but I was with a group and really as much as I hate the place, the band is pretty good (a bit standard but good) and I in no way would have ever thought that was going to happen. You shouldn't just expect bad things to happen when you go out.

Lived 20 years in Oman another 15 in UAE, and don't I know too well the morons that used to be few and far between but are getting quite garden variety now.
But shoving a guy....I know heat of the moment and all that, but you hear ugly stories and maybe you should be a little wary.

If Islam is your religion, telling someone, a guest in your country, is a. rude, and b. she is talking about standing up for the rights of a cat, which btw, your religion does afford them.

Allah's Apostle said, "A woman was tortured and was put in Hell because of a cat which she had kept locked till it died of hunger." Allah's Apostle further said, "(Allah knows better) Allah said (to the woman), 'You neither fed it nor watered when you locked it up, nor did you set it free to eat the insects of the earth.' "
Hadith - Muwatta 2.13
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talha from Humayda bint Abi Ubayda ibn Farwa that her maternal aunt Kabsha bint Kab ibn Malik, who was the wife of the son of Abu Qatada al-Ansari, told her that once Abu Qatada was visiting her and she poured out some water for him to do wudu with. Just then a cat came to drink from it, so he tilted the vessel towards it to let it drink. Kabsha continued, "He saw me looking at him and said, 'Are you surprised, daughter of my brother?' I said, 'Yes.' He replied that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, cats are not impure. They intermingle with you .' "
Yahya said that Malik said, "There is no harm in that unless one sees impurities [fesces] on the cat's mouth."
Hadith - Muslim, Narrated 'Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin
Dawud ibn Salih ibn Dinar at-Tammar quoted his mother as saying that her mistress sent her with some pudding (harisah) to Aisha who was offering prayer. She made a sign to me to place it down. A cat came and ate some of it, but when Aisha finished her prayer, she ate from the place where the cat had eaten. She stated: The Messenger of Allah said: It is not unclean: it is one of those who go round among you. She added: I saw the Messenger of Allah performing ablution from the water left over by the cat.
Hadith - Dawud, Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah
Messenger of Allah enjoyed the presence of cats, and told people to treat them well or leave them alone. This blogger you are so mad at, is merely saying what the Prophet Mohammed S.A.W said to do in the case of animals. That man was lucky if he only had a mortal woman try to punish him for his cruelty, choking a cat, instead of Allah subhanhu wa' ta'ala.

First of all... to A.I.O.: As a fellow female, if you push a man...you should expect him to push back. Man or woman, physical altercations should always be met with the idea that anything can happen. If you can't use words, then you better be ready to take an a$$ whoopin' if you start anything. I don't think that it's right for a guy to truly harm a female, but if you start it, just make sure you have a clear shot of his testicles. ;)
This "Anonymous" joker just made the most elitist comment (but just a common comment that I had come to expect). Just because people have a visa in Oman doesn't mean that they can be treated like 2nd class humans. Nice job being a dick. Maybe you should set an example and be more of a decent human being and stop the "I think I'm better than everyone" common, court jester-like attitude. Educate yourself. There are books online if you can't find them in Oman. Good luck on expanding your horizons and your I.Q.
